So, this one technically is MY family photo shoot- it is my brother, Timmy, his wife, Jessica and my nieces, Bailey and Brenna. They wanted some pictures and I wanted some practice, so it was a win-win! Plus I can never have too many pictures of my nieces. I'm not trying to be biased but they are two of the cutest kids ever. I'm just saying...
I recently did a boudoir shoot with my good friend, Felicia. Here is an example of the one of the pictures from the shoot. We focused on trying to get tasteful, elegant, simple pictures. It was a lot of fun! Felicia was very happy that she did it and now she has really fun pictures that she can look back on one day! Ladies, if you are interested in a boudoir photo shoot... let me know!
I had my second photo shoot with my pseudo-niece Kaylee (oh and mom, Nicole and dad, Nathan too!). They tell me Kaylee was in a great mood that day, but to me she always seems to be in a great mood! She is such a cutie. Look at her little expressive face! I just love that little girl. Her mom and dad are so lucky! What a cute family. I can't wait to do it again!
Last weekend I had the pleasure of taking pictures of my friend Devon's cute family. She was worried that Brenden would have a difficult time with pictures, but I'll let you be the judge of how he did in front of the camera. What a cutie. Taylor was a little more shy, but I was able to capture a little bit of her personality when she didn't think I was looking. Cute family, cute kids- what more could you ask for?
Scottsdale Leadership is seeking a volunteer photographer to help with portraits of children at the Paiute Community Center on Friday, Dec. 5, from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. They need someone with a lighting kit for portraits, a digital camera and two memory cards. Another photographer is helping out, but with 150-200 children to photograph, they need at least one more. The portraits will go to the parents of the children as holiday gifts. Please contract Fran Brennan at (480) 314-2122, fsbrennan@cox.net.
I had a fun photo shoot last weekend with Heidi, Christian and their two very cute dogs, Tucker Ray and Owen James. Great looking family!! I loved their dogs. Heidi, let's do some more pictures at your house sometime. It would be cute to catch these boys sleeping or playing together! Here you go:
When my good friends, Jason and Maria asked me to do a family (with an emphasis on the children) photo shoot for them, I was so excited to get pictures of their cute girls. Jason is a lucky man- surrounded by some beautiful women in his life. Here are some of my favorites from the day...
Thanks, Jason and Maria! Let me know when you want some with just the two of you! We should celebrate that 18 year marriage with some nice pictures!!
I had the pleasure of taking some pictures of my very good friend, Carrie and her two dogs, Elton and Simon last weekend. They were very cooperative despite all of the distraction in the park. Luckily, I was able to capture some good shots. Check out this cutie dog-tastic family!

Here are some of my favorites from my photoshoot with Cathy's beautiful family. They were so much fun to photograph! Look at how beautiful both Jack's and Julia's eyes are! Thanks Cathy and Mike! It was such a fun time! A special thanks to Jack and Julia for being willing to climb in trees too!
Cheryl Sexton Photography is the result of my passion for catching great shots of people being themselves in environments where they are comfortable. I am interested in catching families, children and couples in small moments that reflect their personalities instead of standing in a studio saying "cheese." I grew up in a family where studio portraits were all we knew. These days, I am inspired by photojournalism and using people's interactions as the "prop" in the photos I take. Over the past three years, I have spent time assisting and being mentored by some amazing photographers in the valley. Just like in other aspects of my life, continuing to learn and grow is my biggest goal. I plan to continue to connect with local photographers in seminars, workshops, group meet ups and one on one to keep up with the latest and greatest in the world of photography. In the meantime, I will keep you up to date on my work and my growth. Please check back often to view my recent work!
