Sun Flare

Below is my entry in the Rock the Shot (www.rocktheshotforum.com) July contest- "sun flare." I love this image for so many reasons! First, my "nieces" are in this picture and are as cute as can be. Second, I love that they are telling "secrets" and that we caught it in action. Finally, the light was gorgeous! What do you think?

Rock The Shot Photo Challenge

November's Rock the Shot photo challenge is "Family." The submission is supposed to capture a feeling or the essence of family. Below is my submission. I think it captures a childhood feeling of having fun with siblings, especially this time of year. It makes me happy to look at.

Getting caught up and more....

Hello all! I am writing a post to let you know that I am currently working on a lot of "behind the scenes" photography stuff (i.e., workshops, meeting with other photographers, networking, assisting, and setting up sessions for the fall). As a result, I have fallen WAY behind on my posting. I will get caught up soon. If you have not stopped by my website lately, please check it out because I have completely updated it! You can visit it by clicking here.

In the meantime, please check out my submission for www.rocktheshotforum.com. They are having a backlighting contest, so I thought I would throw my hat in the ring with this wedding from April. I am submission #146!!

Please check back soon! I promise to have some more updates!

Thanks!

Scottsdale Holiday Party Photography

Here is a quick storyboard from a recent holiday party that I was able to shoot. It was really nice because I got to spend some time with each family there and then take some employee (formal) photos as well. It was such a beautiful day and the company is full of amazing, kind and caring people. I look forward to working with them again in the future.

Please remember that I can do storyboards for any of my clients. I will start posting some more examples of those so that everyone can get an idea of what is available.

My recent photoshoot with the D. family was really fun. Even though it was pretty cold that day, the girls were really great little models. They were so respectful and kind with my silly requests and with their parents' suggestions. As a result, they seemed to have some fun. I was so happy to find that we were able to capture some of their personailities. From an outsider's point of view, it was so sweet to observe the sisterly relationships with these girls. You could tell that the girls love each other so much and that they were looking out for each other. I really look forward to photographing these girls again! Here are a few of my favorites from the day:

Tempe Family Photography

rfam3

Recently, I had the opportunity to catch up with the R. Family. They are such an amazingly sweet and beautiful family that it is really easy to photograph them in any setting. Last year, we took pictures at their local clubhouse. See that session here. This year, we went to a local Tempe historic area for some family photographs. Despite the freezing cold temperature that day, this family took beautiful pictures. They were troopers! I am always happy to have repeat customers who come back to me each year because it really is so great to be able to watch people grow and change over time. I also love working with families in so many capacities, so family photography is really one of my true passions. Here are some of my favorites from the day:

Recently, I had the opportunity to take my beautiful niece, Bailey on a photo shoot that I have been wanting to do for a couple of years now. One of the benefits of having two beautiful nieces at my disposal is that I can dress them up and take them to fun and unique places for a photo shoot when I am babysitting. It took a little planning to get this photo shoot completed, but Bailey was pretty excited to go along with it. I actually handmade her tutu because I had specific image in my mind about how I wanted the pictures to turn out. Bailey is the world's easiest little "model" because she loves having her picture taken and she is usually really easy to photograph. Next time, I am going to take my other niece, Brenna for a different kind of fun photo shoot. As usual, I have a ton of favorites, but I have selected the following five to share:

Thank you, Bailey for being such an amazing person and for letting me take pictures of your natural beauty! I love you so much!!
